An announcement from Step-by Step Supportive Services
There is a new development in the Step By Step community based mental health program. SBS supports clients who utilize services for both short term and long term care. Over the past few years, we have observed that more of our clients are utilizing our program more often for short term services. For these clients, their stay is often a transitional phase, with the eventual goal of living independently without supports. This has led to the recognition that those seeking short term support need differentiated services from those seeking long term maintenance services.
So recently, out of this need evolved a second track to our community integrated program, Track B, designed with the intention of meeting the needs of clients seeking short term support.
Clients who fit this track best often lead busy lives without extra time for the daily programming that Track A offers. Goals often are focused around re-entry into the community, independent living skill building, vocational support, and developing a social network within the community. As a result, Track B instead provides its own defined model of care to suit the needs of this population.
